1. Mysore Palace



Mysore Palace is a historical palace and a royal residence at Mysore in the southern Karnataka state of India. The palace is in the center of Mysore and faces the Chamundi Hills eastward. The brilliant architecture and intricate craftsmanship with which it is built makes it an incredible masterpiece. One of the beautiful destination in Mysore.

Timings: Everyday from 10 am to 5:30 pm 

Entry Fee: INR 40 per person for adults and INR 20 per person for children

2. Lalitha Mahal




The Lalitha Mahal is the second largest palace in Mysore, it is located near the Chamundi Hills. The elegant palace is painted pure white and you will get a lovely view of the Chamundi Hill to the left and the Mysore city in front of the palace is seen from the balcony upstairs. A part of the palace has now been converted to a heritage hotel and is being managed by India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC).

3. Jaganmohan Palace




Jaganmohan Palace is a palace in Mysore, popularly known as the princely city of Mysore, India. The palace is built in traditional Hindu style and has three stories. The walls of the interiors are painted with murals. The famous works of Indian artists such as Raja Ravi Verma's oil paintings and S.G. Heldnkr's ''Lady with the lamp'' are also kept here.

4. Karanji Lake




Karanji Lake known as the largest lake in the city Mysore, the total area of Karanji lake is 90 hectares. Karanji Lake is located at the base of Chamundi hills and qualifies as the best option for enjoying nature's scenic views. The lake is surrounded by a nature park consisting of a butterfly park and a walk-through aviary.

Timings: Wed-Mon 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, closed on Tuesday

5. Melody World Wax Museum



Known as the third largest art museum of India, the instruments and bands are displayed here range from stone age to the modern date showcasing different genres such as jazz, pop, Chinese, tribal, rock, Punjabi bhangra, hip hop etc. It is a tribute to the famous music artists from all over the world.

6. Railway Museum




The railway museum in Mysore is the second largest after the one in Delhi. The Railway Museum was established in 1979 by Indian Railways, a mini train takes the visitors on the ride through the premises of the museum. Among all the places of Mysore, it is the best destination for kids.

Timings: Tuesday-Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm, closed on Monday

7. ST. Philomena Church




ST. Philomena Church is a Catholic church, the full name of this church is the Cathedral of St. Joseph and St. Philomena. It was built in 1936, popularly it is known as the tallest charge in Asia.

Timings: Everyday from 5:00 am to 6:00 pm

8. Chamundi Hills




Chamundi hills are located 13 km from Mysore and there lies an amazing sculptured Chamundeshwari temple atop the hills. To reach the temple, the flight of 1000 steps needs to be taken. Since the early days of the Maharajahs of Mysore, the idol of goddess Chamundi has been carried on a decorated elephant as part of the celebrations in the annual Dusshera festival. A tour of the hills and the temple is perfect for a day of sightseeing in Mysore.

9. Sri Nandi Temple 




Popularly known as the best places to visit in Mysore for religious tourists. The 5 meters tall idol of Nandi is believed to be carved out of a single rock. Stay alert you will found many monkeys around this place, so one needs to be a bit careful about their belongings.

10. Brindavan Gardens




Brindavan Gardens is a beautiful garden located in the Mandya District of the state Karnataka, India. It is a famous spot for sightseeing near Mysore and a perfect place to spend a pleasant evening. The main attraction of the park is the musical fountain show, ornated with beautiful lights and cheerful music. 

Timings: Everyday from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm.
