                          Today's topic is all about Kumbh Mela, so let me give you a first introduction about Kumbh Mela. Kumbh Mela or Kumbha Mela is a mass Hindu pilgrimage of faith in which Hindus gather to bathe in a sacred or holy river. Visitors came across from all the countries, also it is a place where you will find lots of pilgrims. Traditionally there are four fairs are widely accepted as the Kumbh Melas. Kumbh Mela is located in the city Allahabad India, So the names are listed below :

The Kumbh Mela will be held in Prayagraj in the year 2019 from January to March. Prayagraj is well connected to all the major cities of India via Air, Rail, and Road. So this festival is held every three years, much popular all over around the globe.

The Kumbh Mela is held when the waters of those sacred rivers are said to pass into nectar, and the exact dates are calculated according to a combination of the Sun and the Moon.

Some Major Attractions in Kumbh Mela

You will find a large number of population in this event, also you will find Sadhus.
There is a lot of different faith that show their devotion to different ways:

1. Urdhwavahurs put their bodies through severe hardship
2. Nagas do not wear any clothes and cover their body with ash
3. Parivajakas have taken an oath of silence and use bells to alert others to their presence
4. Kalpvasis bathe three times a day at very specific times
5. Shirashasins stand for 24 hours and meditate while standing on their heads


In Kumbh, you can see ''Akhara'' which is a place where the Sadhus(Holy Men) carry out their practices and is also a great meeting place for the religious group. These saints are said to be followers of Lord Shiva and Vishnu, hence there are Shaivite Akharas (dedicated to Shiva) and there are Vaishnavite Akhras (dedicated to Vishnu).


It is an amazing destination for Hindu religious people, and also luck needed to visit this place. The festival is the largest peaceful gathering in the world and considered as the world's largest congregation of religious pilgrims.
