The capital of the city is Bhubaneswar, the name of the city is mentioned in the ancient Hindu texts of the Puranas as one of the 7 holy cities in India and it is a big part of the pilgrimage. 1. Jagannath Temple




Puri's Shree Jagannath Temple is an important Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Jagannath, a form of Lord Maha Vishnu, located on India's east coast, in Puri, Odisha state. It was built in 1161, lots of travellers visit daily from every country and also one of the famous temples in India. Your trip of Puri is incomplete without visiting this temple. The temple is open from morning 5.00 am to 11.00 pm, there is no entry fee for visitors.

2. Puri Beach



Puri Beach is located in Puri City and the distance between Puri Railway Station and the beach is only 2 km away. It is 60 km to Bhubaneswar from the closest airport. For local transportation, there are buses and taxis available. There are a lot of activities in the vicinity of the sea, such as horse riding, boating, speedboat, etc. You will find plenty of cameramen close to the beach if you forget to take your camera. One of India's tranquil beaches.

3. Chilika Wildlife Sanctuary



Chilika Lake is a lagoon of brackish water, spread over the districts of Puri, Khurda and Ganjam of the state of Odisha on the east coast of India, at the mouth of the Daya River, flowing into the Bay of Bengal, covering an area of more than 1,100 km2. It is India's largest coastal lagoon and the world's second largest coastal lagoon. It is the Indian subcontinent's largest wintering ground for migratory birds. The lake is home to a number of endangered plant and animal species. If you love birds and animals then you must visit this place.

4. Gundicha Ghar Temple



Gundicha Temple is a Hindu temple located in Puri's temple town in Odisha State, India. It is important to be the destination of Puri's celebrated annual Rath Yatra. While it remains vacant most of the year, the temple is occupied every year during the annual Rath Yatra festival by images of the deities of Jagannath, his brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra for seven complete days (total nine days including Ratha Yatra's start and end day).
