Chennai is the capital of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, previously called as Madras. Location is famous for the biggest cultural, economic and educational centre of south India. Also, it is famous for a good treatment city, where you will find a good doctor. Chennai is among the most visited Indian cities by foreign tourism. Chennai is famous for a hot climate, where people enjoy coconut water near the beach. Chennai is one of the few cities in India where movie tickets are cheap. So in this post, I will say about some places where you can enjoy your Chennai trip fully.

1. Kapaleeshwarar Temple



The first day of your Chennai trip, start from the temple. One of the most beautiful temples located in Chennai, this temple is devoted to Lord Shiva. The temple is located in Mylapore, since the month of mid-March to the mid-April duration, the temple celebrates the nine-day long as Panguni Peruvizha, which is called as Spring festival.

2. Marina beach


Marina Beach is the second largest urban beach in the world. Here the main attraction is the horseback rides which has become a favourite activity among both adults and kids. Various food stalls are situated near the beach that offers murukku, sundal, ice-cream, and other South-Indian snacks. The beach also contains an aquarium, a swimming pool, and a park. The beach is clean and the golden sand adds to the overall beauty. Visit early in the morning you will love the view of sunrise.

3. Fort St. George



 Currently, the home of Tamil Nadu's Legislative Assembly and Secretariat, Fort St. George is one of Chennai's most amazing architecture buildings. Completed in 1653, this fort also houses a large church called Saint Mary's Church and is one of the British's oldest churches in India. Opening time 09:00 AM, and Closing time 05:00 PM. Weekly Closed on Friday.

4. Santhome Church




The San Thome Church of Chennai is one of the best places to visit in Chennai, sparkling white in structure and deeply rooted in faith. The building's architecture instantly drifts you back with its stained glass windows to the colonial times. This church is one of the world's only three known churches built above the tomb of an apostle of Jesus, the other two being the Basilica of St. Peter in the Vatican City and the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain.
5. Elliot's Beach

Elliot's Beach is located in Besant Nagar, Chennai, India. The Elliot's Beach has now been renamed as the Besant Nagar beach. There are many restaurants near the beach, one of the beautiful and cleanest beach. Elliot's Beach is quite famous among the tourists as well as the natives of the state.

6. Covelong Beach



Among the various beaches in and around Chennai, this is one beach that is best known for its beach activities. Starting from Chennai on the way to Mahabalipuram, this beach offers windsurfing and swimming activities. Other nearby beach attractions such as forts, churches, and mosques make this place one of Chennai's best places to visit.

7. VGP Universal Kingdom



The VGP Universal Kingdom is an amusement park, located on the East coast road, which offers you thrill and fun to the people of every age. This place is one of the most popular places in Chennai, also you can enjoy the rides. You will find restaurants where you can enjoy your lunch meal. The entry fees for this park is INR 300, this ticket provides access to all rides for a day.

8. Fun City
Another popular place in Chennai, The Fun city offers you plenty of fun games, learning experiences, activities, rides and assures big joy in return. On Sunday it will be the best place for you. Entry fee different for each ride, opening hours 10 am to 10:30 pm. You have the entire day to do fun.

9. Muttukadu



Muttukadu is a water area in Kanchipuram district near Chennai. Much popular destination, the place is famous for watersports and boating. Entry fee boat charges depend on the duration of the boating and type of boat chosen.
Opening hours: 10:30 am to 5:30 pm

10. MGM Dizzee World


MGM Dizzee World is one of the beautiful places in Chennai, located on East Coast Road. If you want to spend some quality times with friends and family, then it will be the best destination for you. Entry fee starts from INR 599.

Opening hours: 10:30 am to 6:00 pm
